I am whom?

Welcome to my blog! I am a Solo Keyboardist and Freelance Designer and a graduate of Transport Design from Staffordshire University, UK. I undertake various projects and activities including Offroading, Photography, and my ongoing restoration of my 1966 Austin Mini! I am also working on the design and manufacture of a custom Keytar called the Syblade. I'm on Youtube, Twitter, Coroflot, Myspace, Facebook, Reverbnation, Soundcloud and am the first result on google if you type "Jonny Stone"! I will be writing about all these activities and more in this blog. The titles are simply memorable (and largely irrelivant) quotes from friends, family or myself! I hope you enjoy my work!

61. "If they spent £42million on that brown shitty building, I will brown shit on them!"

Maaaaan... It's 8 months since my last post.

Oops.

JDSC has come a long way in that time however! Even if I am keeping most things a secret from the world...
The one thing I HAVE been sharing to everyone I can is the deletion of the uncatchy name "Classic Car Illustrations" and the introduction of AutoRenders. (Click to see a new listing on ebay with many goodies!)

Click the AutoRenders Logo too!

The new title and branding simply means I am able to broaden the horizons of the original 10 or 15 "classic only" cars I was going to illustrate, to the 50+ I have planned to be completed and available by the end of 2014. That's the plan anyway, chances are I'll only get half of that done... We'll see!
Here's the newest cars. I'm up to 13 now!

Jaguar E-type 2+2 - S2...
...and S3 V12

Lancia Stratos HF
That bonnet with the air outlets took FOREVER!

I had originally illustrated the Cobra (it was the 3rd one I did about a year ago) but was never happy with it. The angle I start with didn't allow for a reg plate and somehow some of the details like the lights and wheels never quite cut it...
So, I started from scratch and did it again!
And again in the classic shelby blue.

Last but not least, the Citroen DS Series 3, possibly the simplest and easiest illustration I've done yet thanks to her goddess like curves... which come to think of it I completed before all the cars above. Not that it matters what order they're displayed in!
Here's a "standard" DS without the different coloured roof and chrome .

Hope you're all well.
Hopefully more updates soon.
Stay creative :)

60. "EW, look at that massive worm!"..."...erm, that's a daffodil."

Yeh, I'm not kidding anybody. Updates aren't going to be regular unless something huge happens...
In case something does, be the first to find out about it and go 'like' my facebook page!

Regardless, here are some cars.

Ford GT40

Lamborghini Miura P400S & SV

Austin & Morris Mini Cooper

VW Type 2 Microbus Samba T1
I had hoped that my personalised illustrations would be a hit for fathers day. Alas, no.
Although last month I did send my first print off to Athens in Greece!

Updates have been even less frequent than ever because, back in January, there was a huge fire in the factory where my and and a few others workshops are. We are about 1/3 of the way through refurbishing it. I'm hoping to get some videos once it's in respectable condition... mind you, anything will be an improvement from right after the fire...

More soon, hopefully.
Stay Creative!

59. "My dad's eaten all the fucking cheese!"

A quote from a friend expressing their displeasure to their dad who, like mine, won't leave our things alone. Including cheese.

Another classic car illustration is complete and for sale in my shop! This time it's the wonderful British lightweight the Lotus Elan. As with all the others, it has many options for personalisation including colours, backgrounds and wheels.
Also, postage has been reduced on all items!

Also available for sale is my JDStone music merchandise including CD's and badges.

I recently completed a cover of Dorje's Aeromancy.
Check them out at the link above, and check out my cover in the link below!

58. "Nope, because you are not an octopus"

A quote from myself having watched my friend Hans of Copley Recovery Services try to change a fan-belt on a mk3 Ford Mondeo, a job which, on any sensibly designed vehicle, should take half an hour and be an easy job doable at the kerbside.
Nope! 6 hours, much internet trawling and 2 people. If you tried to do it yourself, you'd need to take the engine out... Barking mad I tell you!!

Anywho!

Time for some more personalised illustrations to be uploaded. I've done 3 more since the last post with the Jaguar E-type, all available from my Etsy shop:

Click on the images to enlarge them!
007's Aston Martin DB5

AC/Shelby Cobra

Porsche 911 Carrera RS

Also available in my shop will be a bunch of different limited edition creative treats, like these gold and silver glow in the dark butterfly and dragonfly necklaces.

That's all for now. I'm off to an early Christmas party hosted by Yorkshire band Hope & Social!

57. JDStone Creations is officially...something!

Yep! You heard me . . . well, you read it anyway.

It's taken a very long time to iron out all the creases and fill in the gaps, but the first of my Classic Car Illustrations is complete and available on etsy.

Since this blog is linked to that very page, here's some high resolution images as promised in the listing.

I produced the illustrations to be as authentic as possible for the price I'm selling them for, as well as letting the customer personalise it to their own taste.
If demand increases, I might even do a few one off's for people!

Next car to finish, the ever famous Aston Martin DB5!
